Some of the main tools to create these interactive environments are DRUPAL, MAMBO & PHPnuke.
Both have there amazing super features and are both equal in abilities and user friendly ease. They are both action packed with features and modules, fully customizable.
All aspects of these scripts can be modified to the users desired look and feel.The scripts were created to be able to easily update and change the sites content with a user friendly interface/ admin panel that gives full edit and customizing functionality "on the fly".
